Mr John Ju
| Mr. John Ju is a Co-Founder and serves as Vice President of Systems and General Manager of Asia Design Centers at Ambarella Corporation. Mr. Ju oversees Ambarella Corp.-wide software activities and manages the software and system hardware teams in U.S. and Taiwan design centers to develop the next generation of consumer digital video applications. Mr. Ju has more than 15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. His expertise in software and firmware development from algorithm to system production has enabled him to champion technical challenges and to mentor team members in the entire life cycle of chip design. Mr. Ju joined Afara Websystems as senior director of software engineering. He built a 30-member software team, which architected and delivered software for Afara's multi-core multi-thread processor. Mr. Ju held multiple senior management positions at C-Cube Microsystems. He served as the firmware director of the Home Media division and supervised a team of 40+ people to do audio/video codecs and system applications. Mr. Ju managed overall software development for multiple generations of C-Cube video processors, covering professional broadcasting to consumer DVD recorder markets. During his time at C-Cube, he successfully led his team in bringing many generations of C-Cube codec processors into customer production. Mr. Ju conducted his video research at Sarnoff Research Lab. He received the Sarnoff Technical Achievement award for pioneering in MPEG video algorithm development. Mr. Ju holds a bachelor's degree from National Taiwan University and a master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Princeton University. |

Mr Didier LeGall
| Mr. Didier LeGall, PhD co-founded Ambarella Corporation and serves as its Executive Vice President. Mr. LeGall was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of C-Cube Microsystems up until C-Cube’s acquisition by LSI Logic in 2001. At LSI Logic, Mr. LeGall served as vice president and general manager of the Home Media product group with P&L responsibility for DVD, recordable DVD and professional digital video products. In 2003, he became vice president of engineering for LSI Logic’s Broadband Entertainment group and was responsible for DVD, DVD recordable, professional video, set-top box and digital TV integrated circuits. As vice president and general manager, LeGall grew LSI Logic’s market share of DVD recorder ICs by well over 50 percent. Mr. LeGall served as a Manager of the Visual Communication group at Bell Communications Research (Bellcore). At Bellcore, LeGall worked on compression algorithms for digital video and digital HDTV. He held an adjunct professorship at Columbia University from 1985 to 1989. Mr. LeGall started the standardization effort of the Moving Picture Expert Group (MPEG) and served as the Chairman of the MPEG Video group from 1989 to 1995 delivering two international standards MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 that have since had a major impact on the industry. LeGall is the author or co-author of over twenty digital video-related patents. Mr. LeGall received his undergraduate degrees from Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France and Technical University Darmstadt, Germany. He earned his master's and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering from UCLA. |
Mr Les Kohn
| Ms. Leslie Kohn, also known as Les Co-founded Ambarella Corporation in 2004, and serves as its Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Kohn founded Afara Websystems and served as its Chief Technology Officer. He served as the Chief Architect of C-Cube Microsystems, where he led the development of three generations of digital video codecs, including the first single-chip MPEG-2 and HD/multi-stream codecs. Mr. Kohn was a Distinguished Engineer at Sun where he served as the Chief Architect of Sun's first two 64-bit microprocessors: the UltraSPARC I and II. In addition to these accomplishments, he served as the Chief Architect of the Intel i860 and co-Architected the National 32000 microprocessor family. He is one of the designers of i960 RISC chips, NatSemi's 320xx Swordfish and the UltraSPARC-I. He was a Fellow at Sun where he continued the development of this technology and helped throughput computing become the primary focus of Sun's roadmap for its UltraSPARC processors. Mr. Kohn holds a B.S. Degree in physics from California Institute of Technology. |
Mr Fermi Wang
| Dr. Feng-Ming Wang, also known as Fermi, PhD. Co-founded Ambarella Corporation in 2004 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer and President. Dr. Wang served as the Chief Executive Officer at Afara Websystems, which he co-founded. Dr. Wang held several senior management positions at C-Cube Microsystems. As Vice President and General Manager of the Home Media division of C-Cube, he had P&L responsibility for silicon solutions for the DVD, digital video recorder (DVR) and digital video distribution and production markets. As Vice President and General Manager of Codec division of C-Cube, he launched its MPEG codec business and served in both engineering and business management roles. During this time, Dr. Wang and his team were responsible for growing the business by 200 percent in two years and developing the world's first MPEG codec chip. Dr. Wang owns several digital video-related patents. Dr. Wang holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and an M.S. degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University. |
