He initially spent three years working in the coal/commodity department in South Africa as a marketer, before spending two years in Australia as head of the Asian coal/coke commodity division. Between 1988 and 1989 he was based in Hong Kong as manager and head of Glencore's Hong Kong and Beijing offices, as well as head of coal marketing in Asia, where his responsibilities included overseeing the Asian coal marketing business of Glencore and managing the administrative functions of the Hong Kong and Beijing offices. In January 1990, he was made responsible for the worldwide coal business of Glencore for both marketing and industrial assets, and remained in this role until he became Chief Executive Officer in January 2002. He is currently a non-executive director of United Company Rusal plc. Before joining Glencore he worked for five years at Levitt Kirson Chartered Accountants in South Africa. He is qualified as independent director according to the provisions of Corporate Governance Code (Borsa Italiana). Mr Glasenberg is a Chartered Accountant of South Africa and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Witwatersrand. Mr Glasenberg also holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Mr. Kyriakos-Saad holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from Columbia University, New York. Prior to assuming the role of CEO of the EMEA region in July 2010, Mr. Kyriakos-Saad was the CEO of Russia, the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Turkey for Credit Suisse. He joined Credit Suisse in 2006 from JPMorgan Chase, where he worked in a variety of senior fixed income and emerging market management roles. Before joining JPMorgan Chase, he spent eight years at Goldman Sachs in New York and London.
