Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Telecom Company (stc) Group provided pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season with a comprehensive suite of technical and digital infrastructure in the holy sites, according to a press release.
The telecom operator aimed at improving communications efficiency and boosting services, including the 5G Flying Site through advanced drones to ensure continuity of digital services and accelerate response times.
stc further provided rapid intervention to deliver network coverage when needed through the 5G Flying Site service, which helped reducing network pressure while managing digital congestion.
The Saudi telecom giant provided the New Calling service, which provided instant translation of voice calls.
Moreover, stc established 90 maintenance centers across the holy sites, supported by more than 550 qualified technicians to ensure rapid response and immediate emergency handling around the clock.
Meanwhile, the group’s subsidiary IoT Squared offered solutions based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to support pilgrims and operational entities. Among those solutions were Fleet Management, a unified system allowing operators to monitor vehicle movement in real time and issue proactive alerts to efficiently address emergencies.
stc earlier revealed a comprehensive operational plan for the Hajj season in order to boost network efficiency in Makkah and Madinah.
During the Day of Arafah alone, stc delivered a robust achievement, which was described as one of the world’s most demanding digital and operational performances.
