e& unveils AED 6.95bn cash dividends for 2022

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: e&, formerly known as Etisalat Group, announced cash dividends amounting to AED 6.95 billion, equivalent to 80 fils per share, for 2022, according to a bourse filing.

The company’s general assembly meeting greenlighted the board’s recommendation to pay out AED 3.47 billion or 40 fils per share for the second half (H2) of 2022.

Eligible shareholders will receive the H2-22 dividends, which were proposed last month, on 1 May 2023.

The ADX-listed firm highlighted that the full-year dividends represent 80% of its capital, adding that the H1-22 dividends were disbursed on 18 August 2022.

Last year, e& witnessed a growth of 7.40% in net profit attributable to the owners to AED 10 billion, compared to AED 9.31 billion in 2021.

On a separate note, the telecom group recently acquired equity ownership of 50.03% in Careem Super App at a value of $400 million.
