e& bolsters connectivity in 16 countries via $6bn investments

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: e& announced plans to invest $6 billion between 2024-2026 in technological advancement, infrastructure development, and innovative digital solutions to boost connectivity.

The listed group made this commitment to the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) Partner2Connect Digital Coalition at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), according to a bourse disclosure.

In line with its business plan, e& will provide accessible and affordable network connectivity and digital services in 16 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

The Emirati telecommunication giant and Sweden’s Ericsson recently completed a 5G data call trial by leveraging Ericsson’s Cloud Radio Access Network (RAN) setup.

During the January-December 2023 period, the consolidated net profits attributable to the owners of e& increased by 3% year-on-year (YoY) to AED 10.30 billion from AED 10 billion.
