du reports AED 425m net profit Q4

Dubai – Mubasher: Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) on Thursday posted a 15% increase in net profit during the fourth quarter of 2017, registering AED 425 million, compared to AED 370 million in the year-ago period.

The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) listed firm’s revenue went up 0.5% to AED 3.45 billion in the three-month period ended 30 December 2017 versus AED 3.43 billion in Q4-16, according to a company statement.

The UAE-based telecommunications company recorded a net profit of AED 1.712 billion in 2017, down from AED 1.753 billion a year earlier.

Etisalat’s rival made AED 13 billion in revenues during the last four quarters, up 2.2 % from 2016 results.

du’s board recommended the distribution of AED 997 million in cash dividends, with a per-share dividend of AED 35, the company said in a statement to the DFM.
