Zohr Production Reaches 2 bcf/d

Natural gas output from Zohr has reached 2 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) within the first nine months of production, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

Italian oil major Eni, which started production at the Zohr field in December 2017, announced that the field’s output is set to plateau at 2.7 bcf/d in 2019.

Zohr’s production increased due to starting the fifth production unit (T4), which is supported by the eight gas producers as well as a new 218-km subsea pipeline.

Zohr field is the biggest natural gas field in Egypt and is located in the Shorouk concession. Eni owns a 50% stake in the concession, while Rosneft owns 30%, Mubadala Petroleum 10%, and BP holds the remaining 10%.
