World Bank to support Egypt’s transport sector – Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has agreed with the World Bank to support the transportation sector over the coming period, the Egyptian investment and international cooperation minister said.

The transportation sector is a mainstay of the country’s economy and its departments, including railway, roads, and ports, should see further integration, Sahar Nasr added in a statement.

Nasr has met with Makhtar Diop, the World Bank’s vice president for Infrastructure, on the sidelines of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in Washington

The World Bank is looking forward to stepping up cooperation with the North African country in various sectors, including transportation, energy, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation, Diop added.
