Kuwait – Mubasher: Viva achieved a rise of 1.5% in profits during the first quarter of 2017 as compared to the same period of 2016.
Earnings increased to KWD 9.97 million ($32.68 million) in Q1-17 from KWD 9.82 million ($32.19 million) in Q1-16, according to a bourse statement issued on Monday.
Viva’s operating profit rose by 2% to KWD 10.68 million in Q1-17 from KWD 10.46 million in Q1-16.
In a press release, the CEO of Viva, Salman Al Badran, said that the company has kept achieving a good revenue level of KWD 66.9 million by the end of Q1-17, becoming the second largest company in terms of market share in the telecommunications field.
At the stock level, Viva closed Monday’s session 2.33% higher at 880 fils.
