Vezeeta raises $12m in STV-led Series C round

Mubasher: Vezeeta, the leading healthcare startup in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has collected $12 million as part of a Series C investment led by STV, the largest VC fund in MENA, according to a recent statement.

Investors, including the UAE’s BECO Capital, Sweden’s Vostok New Ventures, and Jordan’s Silicon Badia, have joined the round along with new investor Crescent Enterprises’ CE-Ventures from the UAE.

The raised amount will be used to fund Vezeeta’s expansion plans in the regions, mainly in Saudi Arabia in addition to further investments in key new products.

Egypt-based Vezeeta has a main goal of empowering patients through available data by having an access to discover and book medical appointments as well as health services.

The leading healthcare service provider also offers innovative SaaS solutions that utilises cloud computing and big data to empower doctors, building the infrastructure to develop the broader healthcare ecosystem.

“Upon meeting Amir and Vezeeta’s management team, it was immediately apparent to us that they are on such a mission,” Hani Enaya, Partner at STV said.

It is noteworthy that Vezeeta has managed 3 million bookings in the MENA region, served 2.5 million consumers/patients, and connected over 10,000 doctors in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan.
