UAE - Mubasher: The UK will accept UAE vaccination certificates from 4 October 2021 amid the ease coronavirus (COVID-19) travel restrictions with other countries, the British Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps, announced on his official Twitter account on Wednesday.
This move was made as Dubai prepares for holding Expo 2020 Dubai from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, which is expected to attract around 25 million visitors from all over the world.
"We will be accepting UAE vaccination certificates from 4 October following updates to their vaccination app. As a major transport hub which is home to many British expats, this is great news for reopening international travel, boosting business, and reuniting families," Shapps said.
Noteworthy to mention, Dubai Airports Chief Executive Paul Griffiths recently told Bloomberg Television that the number of international visitors is likely to more than double through Dubai Airports in 2022 as the global travel sector is recovering.
