Abu Dhabi -Mubasher: UAE’s government on Thursday announced that was surprised and disappointed after the European Union (EU) included it in the list of non-compliant tax jurisdictions.
The UAE stressed that it would maintain its commitment to adhere to the highest international standards of financial oversight and tax regulation, according to an official statement.
“The UAE has worked to meet the European Union’s requirements in terms of exchanging tax-related information,” said The UAE’s undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance Younis Haji Al-Khouri.
“We look forward to moving into the next phase of cooperation with our EU partners on the important issue of tax regulation,” Al-Khouri added.
The UAE has worked transparently with the EU to meet criteria laid down by its member states, the top official concluded.
