UAE’s solar roof plants provider boosts footprint in Abu Dhabi

Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE’s leading provider of solar roof plants SirajPower on Tuesday signed the first commercial lease in Abu Dhabi with Hepworth, the Middle East's premier supplier of high quality plastic piping systems, to expand its operations in the emirate.

Under a 20-year leasing scheme, SirajPower will install, finance and operate 1.16 Mega Watt peak (MWp) photovoltaic (PV) system on two Hepworth facilities in Abu Dhabi, according to the company’s statement.

The project will cover about 25% of Hepworth’s electricity consumption, saving 1,100 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the first year of operations.

“This expansion is a ground-breaking move that showcases the growing demand for solar distribution in the emirate, as well as our commitment to increase the number of solar rooftop projects in the UAE to achieve its ambitious sustainable developments goals,” SirajPower CEO Laurent Longuet said.
