UAE's W Motors to reveal first autonomous vehicle in 2019

Mubasher: The high-performance luxury sports car developer W Motors plans to introduce the UAE’s first autonomous vehicle at Auto Shanghai 2019 which will take place in April, according to Arabian Business.

In partnership with sister company Iconiq Motors, the Dubai-based W Motors will give a first glimpse of ‘Muse’, a fully electric vehicle that has Level 4 -high automation- and Level 5 -full automation- autonomous driving systems.

Muse is planned to be on the road for Expo 2020 Dubai, where it will have its global debut, Arabian Business reported.

W Motors was founded originally in Beirut, Lebanon, in 2012 by Ralph R. Debbas.

“Muse will be fully produced in Dubai by W Motors at the all-new production facility of which the first phase is set to be completed in the last quarter of 2019,” Arabian Business added.

W Motors founder and CEO Ralph Debbas, said, “The move from conventional vehicles to electric will happen much sooner than we expect, and we are honoured to be part of this movement – as well as Dubai’s vision for the future of mobility.”

The announcement of ‘Muse’ vehicle comes in line with the recent introduction of Dubai Autonomous Transportation Strategy, which is forecast to bring $6 billion (AED 22 billion) in annual economic revenues.
