UAE maintains 2nd position among top global commodity trading hubs

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has maintained its second position among the top global commodity trading hubs, as per the third iteration of the Commodity Trade Index in the DMCC’s latest Future of Trade 2022 report.

The index evaluates the role of ten trading hubs in global trade based by analysing three major factors: locational and trading partners, commodity endowments, and institutional factors, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The US topped the global trading hubs, scoring 58% overall, followed by the UAE with a score of 50%, and The Netherlands with 48%.

The Chief Operating Officer of DMCC, Feryal Ahmadi, said: "The global economic environment remains challenging, however, the Commodity Trade Index proved that the UAE has firmly maintained its position as a world-leading trade hub."

Ahmadi added: "Building on this momentum, DMCC will continue to prioritise increasing the ease of doing business and promoting the huge commercial potential that Dubai possesses."
