UAE hotel sector to create strong demand for hygiene products

UAE – Mubasher: A recent study has revealed that the UAE’s dynamic and rapidly-expanding hotel sector will see further investments in hospitality infrastructure projects and steadily growing number of visitors every year.

The leading city for hotel openings in the MENA region over the past three years, Dubai now has an all-time-high of 65,000 rooms, of which 45% are found in five-star properties, a report by Dhofar Global showed, adding that Abu Dhabi is also seeing strong growth with around 2,300 rooms to be completed within the year.

The Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (ADTCA) has also reported a 20% year-on-year rise in hotel guests in the first quarter of 2015.

“The positive trend is set to continue as Dubai gears up for World Expo 2020 which will draw in a projected 20 million visitors a year and see the opening of 100,000 additional rooms in time for the event,” stated the report, adding that the UAE capital has 5,200 new rooms in the pipeline for 2017 alone.

Such positive indicators reflect the UAE’s vibrant economy and fuel the growth of relevant industries, cultivating stronger demand for quality hygiene products to address the hospitality sector’s emerging needs, the report said, adding that according to RISI's Outlook for World Tissue Business Forecast, in the Middle East region, the tissue business has seen a 8.9% gradual rise since 1993, backed by economic development and burgeoning population.

This is set to continue as the demand for tissue products across the Gulf region is projected to rise at an average annual rate of 6.5% from 2013 to 2023, said Dhofar Global, a leading supplier of hygiene care products in the Middle East.

“We are looking to positively contribute to this booming industry through our quality offerings. We remain steadfast in our commitment to provide world-class hygiene products and sanitation solutions that will help augment and advance our clients’ brand names and allow them to reach new benchmarks of excellence within the hospitality industry,” said Chandan Singh, group chief operations officer at Dhofar Global.
