UAE giant ADNOC Distribution launches service stations in Egypt, targets more units

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE-based fuel and convenience retailer Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for Distribution (ADNOC Distribution) has inaugurated three ADNOC service stations in Egypt that are fully equipped to operate around the clock and offer various vehicle services to the local communities.

The sites are located in Degla Maadi, Obour City, and on the Suez Ring Road where individuals can benefit from car wash as well as lubricant and tire change services. Meanwhile, maintenance services are available at Maadi Degla and Obour City service stations.

All stations feature ADNOC Oasis convenience store which provides customers with fresh foods and bakery options in addition to beverages with a digitally-enhanced shopping experience, according to a press release.

Opening the three facilities comes as part of ADNOC Distribution’s joint venture (JV) in Egypt, which operates more than 240 fuel retail sites nationwide, besides over 100 convenience stores and above 250 lube changing stations.

CEO of ADNOC Distribution, Bader Saeed Al Lamki, said: “As a future-focused business, we continue to take bold steps to address the needs of our customers and look forward to bringing more of our innovative and digitally-backed services to the Egyptian market and to exploring further opportunities to grow our portfolio.”

ADNOC Distribution further plans to launch additional six service stations across Egypt by the end of 2023, following the acquisition of a 50% stake in TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt earlier this year. The UAE giant first announced its agreement to acquire the equity in 2022.

Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt, Thomas Strauss, said: "This partnership [with ADNOC Distribution] signifies our shared vision to offer unparalleled products and services to our esteemed customers in Egypt."

The JV has already expanded its corporate portfolio in the aviation fuels business by securing the right to supply aviation fuel to the UAE’s Etihad Airways for flights fueled in Cairo.

As for the infrastructure and logistical framework, the collaboration is further developing to launch ADNOC Voyager that will be the brand’s signature range of premium and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) approved automotive vehicle lubricants for Egyptian consumers to purchase at ADNOC service stations and the local lubricants market.

ADNOC Distribution’s Egypt expansion is the latest achievement in its international growth journey, where it operates more than 800 sites in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. It is worth noting that the UAE entity launched its first service station outside the UAE in 2018 in Saudi Arabia.

During the first half (H1) of 2023, ADNOC Distribution generated a net profit attributable to the owners worth AED 1.08 billion.
