UAE federal authority confirms public holidays for 2019, 2020

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has confirmed the public holidays to be observed in the country in 2019 and 2020.

Taking to Twitter, the authority said the holiday calendar – which applies to both the public and private sectors – is based on the decision of the Council of Ministers to affirm the official holidays.

Under a new decree approved by the UAE Cabinet in March, public and private sector companies in the UAE will have the same number of national holidays this year and in 2020.

Isra wal Miraj and the Prophet’s birthday – which were previously observed as public holidays – have not been listed.

The next confirmed holiday in the UAE is Eid Al Fitr, likely to fall in the first week of June.
