Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: UAE bounced checks increased by 18.7% year-on-year in 2016, according to a statement by the Central Bank of UAE.
The checks amounted to AED 75.7 billion in 2016, compared to AED 63.8 billion in 2015.
The total value of transfers carried out among UAE-based banks rose 16.6% year-on-year to stand at AED 7 billion in 2016.
Cash withdrawals stood at AED 254.5 billion in 2016, while cash deposits reached AED 250.4 billion.
