UAE bank assets rise 4% in June

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Total assets of the UAE-based banks rose by 4% month-on-month in June.

On an annual basis, the national banks’ assets increased to AED 2.749 trillion last month, up from AED 2.654 trillion in June 2017, according to date released by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).

Moreover, total deposits of banks surged by AED 12.5 billion month-on-month as resident deposits rose by AED 14.3 billion, while non-resident deposits fell by AED 1.8 billion, the CBUAE’s data showed.

The CBUAE also posted that UAE money supply aggregate M1 slipped 0.9% month-on-month in June to AED 495.5 billion from AED 500.1 billion.

Meanwhile, M2 went dipped 0.3% at the end of June to AED 1,300.1 billion, versus AED 1,304.4 billion in May.

On the other hand, M3 edged up 0.9% to AED 1,553.6 billion last month, compared to AED 1,539.7 billion a month earlier.
