UAE – Mubasher: The UAE Minister of Economy Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri said that China has become the UAE's leading partner in terms of non-oil trade, accounting for 9.7% of its total non-oil trade in 2018, which valued at over $43 billion, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The UAE’s non-oil trade exchange with China accounted for 16% of its total non-oil foreign trade with Asian countries last year, Al Mansouri highlighted.
Moreover, China acquired 15% of the UAE’s imports, becoming its leading source of commodities imports in 2018 with imports worth $38 billion, Al Mansouri added.
He also added that China is the source of 27% of the UAE’s imports from Asia, indicating that it comes in the 11th spot internationally in terms of receiving non-oil exports and re-exported goods from the UAE.
The UAE is one of the main 25 countries that attract Chinese exports and the first in the Arab world, representing 29% of Chinese exports to Arab countries, he said.
He further noted that the UAE is the most important trade partner for China in the Arab world as it makes up 26% of total non-oil-foreign trade between China and Arab countries.
The Emirati imports accounts for 36% of China’s export of advanced technology products to Arab countries, and it comes among 20 leading countries that accept Chinese exports, making up 1.1% of China’s total international commodity exports, he added.
Al Mansouri highlighted that the UAE’s non-oil exports to China represent 16% of the total Arab non-oil exports to China in 2018.
