Morocco, Ghana and Tunisia are among African nations that would lose the most if the United Kingdom doesn’t negotiate a deal by the time it has to exit the European Union, Bloomberg reported, citing a study by a United Nations agency.
Tunisia would lose $49 million in case of no-deal Brexit, while Morocco and Ghana will lose $97 million and $91 million, respectively.
According to the same source, which lists in a table the winners and Losers of the no-deal Bexit, still according to UNCTAD, “A no-deal Brexit could damage smaller economies trading with the United Kingdom,” the agency said in a statement.
The U.K.’s intention to lower most-favored-nation tariffs could increase the competitiveness of some of its trading partners, said the UNCTAD.
