Tawuniya’s CEO resigns; Alkassabi succeeds

Riyadh – Mubasher: Abdulaziz Hassan Al Boug resigned from his post as the CEO of the Company for Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya) after he was appointed as the Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI).

Al Boug’s resignation became effective on 2 April 2023, according to a bourse filing.

Meanwhile, the board named Othman Yousef Alkassabi, the CEO of the health insurance sector at Tawuniya, as the firm's Acting CEO. He assumed his new role on 3 April.

With more than 17-year experience in healthcare, Alkassabi held a number of key positions, including the acting executive director for communication and spokesperson at the Council of Health Insurance (CHI).

He has an executive master’s degree in International Management and Leadership from Al Yamamah University, in addition to a master's degree in Business Administration from Hochschule Furtwangen University.

The new official also holds a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physical Therapy from King Saud University.

In 2022, Tawuniya recorded a 37.20% year-on-year (YoY) leap in net profit before Zakat to SAR 480.38 million from SAR 350.13 million.
