Tadawul extends gains for 12th week in row

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) continued its upward trend for the twelfth consecutive week during the week ended on 17 September 2020.

Weekly, the Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) hiked by 2.49% or 202.72 points last week and reached the level of 8,337.88 points.

Market gains amounted to SAR 9.291 trillion in the previous week, an increase of 2.6% when compared to SAR 9.055 a week earlier.

Banks headed the gainers with 2.73%, energy gained 2.66%, whilst telecommunication services and materials rose by 2.25% and 1.54%, respectively.

On the other hand, software and services slid by 4.18% while capital goods declined by 1.12%.

The market’s turnover jumped by 24.2% weekly to stand at 75 billion while the trading volume surged by 25.2% to reach 3.03 billion shares.

Amana Cooperative Insurance Company was the top rising stock with 25.14%, whereas Arab Sea Information System Company was the top loser with 11.76%.

Saudi Aramco logged the largest turnover of SAR 4.04 billion, while Dar Alarkan Real Estate Development Co led the trading activity through the exchange of 272.55 million shares.

The Nomu-Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) recorded higher weekly gains by 8.98%, standing at 12,720.73 points. 

Moreover, the traded value in the parallel market registered SAR 228 million last week where a total of 3.86 million shares were traded.
