Tadawul attains year-high gains on Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday’s trading session on a positive note, maintaining its upward trend for the second consecutive session, and recording its highest gains in more than a year.

The Saudi bourse is highly anticipating the listing and trading of Aramco’s shares, which is set to begin on Wednesday.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged by 2.44%, its highest daily gain since 25 October 2018, closing at 8,098.74 points, adding 193.23 points.

A total of 166 stocks closed in green, led by Yamama Cement that rose by 6.46%, while 16 stocks ended the sessions in losses, with Thimar recording the highest loss as it dropped 2%.

Traded values increased on Sunday to SAR 3.13 billion, compared with SAR 2.06 billion on Thursday.

Similarly, the number of traded shares grew to 129.8 million shares, up from 94.27 million shares in the previous session.

A Rajhi recorded the highest turnover with SAR 487.15 billion, while Alinma was the most actively traded stock with 15.05 million shares.

All market sectors closed in gains, led by the energy sector that added 3.53%.

Meanwhile, the Nomu-Parallel Market lost 9.79% as the main index closed at 6,207.07 points.
