TASI rises slightly, Nomu closes in red Thursday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday in the green after inching up 2.29 points, or 0.03%, reaching 7,662.17 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 128.5 million shares, down from 151.8 million in the previous session, while the main market’s liquidity slumped to SAR 2.94 billion ($784.8 million), from SAR 3.58 billion ($954.13 million).

The food and staples retailing sector increased by 1.08%, followed by the real estate management and development sector with 0.96%, and the telecommunication services with 0.58%.

On the flipside, the capital goods, materials, and banking sectors tumbled 1.31%, 0.16%, and 0.05%, respectively.

Al Gassim Investment Holding Company’s (GACO) stock was the best performer after rising 6.57%, while the Saudi Industrial Export Company’s (SIEC) stock was the worst performer after dropping 9.95%.

Alinma Bank’s stock, which fell  0.66%, topped TASI in terms of trading volume after 17.6 million shares were exchanged, whereas the stock of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), which dropped 0.66%, led in terms of liquidity after generating SAR 411.28 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, fell 1.43 points, or 0.06%, to finish at 2,431.37 points.

Development Works Food Co’s (DWF) stock levelled down 2.54%.
