TASI hits 25-session low, Nomu ends near stable Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) plunged 165.26 points, or 2.16%, to 7,496.91 points, registering its sharpest loss in 25 sessions, or since 14 October.

TASI’s trading volume reached 142.75 million shares in the first session of the week, up from 128.5 million in the previous session, while liquidity increased to SAR 3.01 billion ($803.47 million), from SAR 2.94 billion ($784.8 million).

The capital goods, telecommunication services, banking, and materials sectors levelled down 3.3%, 2.9%, 2.52%, and 1.68%, respectively.

The Saudi Industrial Export Company’s (SIEC) stock was the worst performer after dropping 10%, whereas the stocks of Al Sorayai Trade and Industrial Group and National Company for Learning and Education was the best performers with 5.58%, and 5.26%, respectively.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock, down 0.67%, topped the main market in terms of liquidity after generating SAR 368.66 million, while Dar Alarkan Real Estate Development Co’s stock, down 3.78%, led in terms of trading volume after 18.92 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, levelled down 5.16 points, or 0.21%, to close at 2,426.21 points, recording its ninth drop in a row.

Al Kathiri Holding Company’s stock led Nomu’s losers with 5%, whereas Development Works Food Co’s (DWF) stock inched up 0.98%.
