TASI drops, Nomu hits lowest level since launch at Thursday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday's trading session with a negative performance after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell 2.33 points, or 0.03%, to 8,449.97 points, marking the third consecutive decline.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 111.74 million shares on Thursday, up from 107.31 million shares on Wednesday, while liquidity jumped to SAR 3.16 billion, from SAR 2.8 billion.

The food and beverages sector decreased 1.5%, followed by a 0.8% drop in the transportation sector.

The consumer durables and apparel and the banking sectors dipped 0.45%, and 0.4%, respectively.

On the other hand, the media, consumer services, materials, and telecommunication services sectors went up 8.9%, 1.4%, 0.5%, and 0.1%, respectively.

The Saudi Research and Marketing Group’s stock was the bourse’s best performer after growing 9.8%, whereas Saudi Enaya Cooperative Insurance Company’s (Enaya) stock lost 6.3%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock topped TASI’s traded value after generating a turnover of SAR 671.77 million, while Alinma Bank’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 27.45 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, tumbled for the second session in a row after dropping 52.36 points, or 1.8%, to close at 2,791.60, registering its lowest level since launching on 26 February 2017.

The secondary market’s traded volume hit 75,360 shares on Thursday, up from 71,680 shares in the previous session, while liquidity increased to SAR 1.5 million, from SAR 883,900.

Development Works Food’s (DWF) stock fell 3.4%, while Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock decreased 2.8%.

The stock of Thob Al-Aseel Company topped Nomu’s turnover with SAR 793,190, while Raydan Co’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 29,080 shares were exchanged.
