TASI adds 39 pts, Nomu falls at Thursday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) finished Thursday with a positive performance after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) jumped 38.66 points, or 0.5%, to 7,768.3 points, registering its highest levels in 12 sessions, or 5 since September.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 102.48 million shares, down from 118.25 million on Wednesday, while liquidity tumbled to SAR 2.26 billion ($602.67 million), from SAR 2.6 billion ($693.87 million).

The materials sector increased by 1.09%, while the bank sector inched up 0.57%.

On the flipside, the healthcare and telecommunication services sectors declined 2.46%, and, 0.08%, respectively.

Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Company’s (MedGulf) stock was the best performer after growing 6.06%, whereas Saudi Fisheries Company’s (Al Asmak) stock levelled down 4.92%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Co’s stock, up 0.63%, topped in terms of trading volume after 18.2 million shares were exchanged, while the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock 2.51%, led in terms of liquidity after generating a turnover of SAR 308 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, went down 15.7 points, or 0.6%, to finish at 2,585.46 points.

Al-Omran Industrial Trading’s stock fell 4.11%.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock topped in terms of traded value with SAR 912,250, whereas Raydan Co’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 41,500 shares were exchanged.

On Wednesday, Tadawul stated that it will halt trading activities on Sunday, 23 September on the occasion of celebrating the country's National Day, while it will resume trading on Monday, 24 September.
