TASI, Nomu end Sunday down

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Sunday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) dropped 16.62 points, or 0.21%, to finish the first session of the week at 7,728.06 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 162.7 million shares on Sunday, against 177.14 million shares on Thursday, while traded value retreated to SAR 3.76 billion ($1.002 billion), from SAR 4.55 billion ($1.2 billion).

The food and staples retailing, food and beverages, telecommunication services, banks, and materials sectors decreased 1.4%, 0.71%, 0.65%, 0.47%, and 0.1%, respectively.

On the other hand, the media sector rose 3.62%, while energy segment went up 1.1%.

Malath Insurance’s stock was the worst performer after falling 5.98% to close at  SAR 15.40, whereas Saudi United Cooperative Insurance’s (Walaa) stock grew 7.67% to SAR 33.85.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, slipped 2.95 points, ot 0.1%, to 3,020.36 points.

Baazeem Trading’s stock led Nomu’s losers with 4% to SAR 24, whereas the stock of Abo Moati for Bookstores levelled up 5.08% to SAR 12.
