Suez Canal's revenues grow to $551m in April

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s revenues from Suez Canal rose by 15.8% year-on-year (YoY) to $551 million in April, compared to $476 million in the same month a year earlier, the Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Osama Rabie, said.

A total of 1,814 vessels transited the Suez Canal carrying 110 million tonnes in April, up from 1,731 ships carrying 102 million tonnes in April 2020, Rabie revealed.

These remarks came during the inauguration of several developmental projects in Ismailia Governorate on Tuesday.

Rabie announced the inauguration of the first phase of Port Said Water Plant with a capacity of 80,000 cubic metres at a cost of EGP 180 million.
