Shell Oman posts 10.9% rise in Q2-16 profits

Mubasher: Shell Oman Marketing’s unaudited financial results showed a net profit rise of 10.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2016.

Net profit reached OMR 4.79 million ($12.4 million) in Q2-16, versus OMR 4.32 million ($11.18 million) in Q2-15, according to a bourse filing.

The company's net profits grew 27.5% in the first half of 2016 to OMR 8.81 million ($22.8 million) compared to OMR 6.91 million ($17.9 million) in H1-15.

Total revenues also increased 10.7% to OMR 183.6 million ($476.8 million) by the end of H1-16, compared to OMR 165.59 million ($430.04 million) a year earlier.

The cost of sales and operating expenses also advanced 10.5% in H1-16 to OMR 177.94  million ($462.12 million) from OMR 161.07  million ($418.3 million) in the same period of 2015.

The Muscat-listed company earlier reported a rise of 55.2% in its net profit for Q1-16 to OMR 4.02 million ($10.4 million), compared to OMR 2.59 million ($6.7 million) in the year-ago period.
