Riyadh – Sharikat Mubasher: Shahbandr announced it has changed its name to Komrz, marking a strategic shift toward AI-powered agentic commerce and international expansion beyond Saudi Arabia and Egypt into the wider GCC and European markets.
As part of the rebrand, Komrz unveiled Komi, its proprietary AI commerce assistant designed to help merchants automate routine tasks, manage operations through simple text commands, and improve customer engagement, according to a recent press release.
Founded in 2023, the company has built a network of more than 20,000 merchants over the past three years, introducing features such as native video commerce and early AI-driven merchant tools that laid the foundation for its next growth phase.
On this occasion, Shady Abdelshaheed, the CEO, said the rebrand reflects the company's broader ambitions beyond Saudi Arabia and Egypt, with a focus on AI, international expansion, and building next-generation infrastructure for global merchants.
The company also introduced an expanded e-commerce ecosystem that enables businesses to launch online stores without technical expertise while accessing AI-powered content creation, analytics, video commerce, and live streaming. The platform integrates with regional and global payment providers, BNPL services, and logistics companies to support cross-border commerce.
