Selling pressure drags down DFM Sunday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index lost 30.66 points, or 1.05%, to close at 2,889.45 points on Sunday, pushed down by selling pressure.

The investment sector went down 1.9%, as Dubai Investments declined 1.98% to AED 1.98 and DFM Company decreased by 1.8% to AED 0.961.

The transportation sector levelled down 1.8%, as Air Arabia fell 2.9% to AED 1.02, while the real estate sector sank 1.18%, as Drake and Scull International (DSI) dropped 5.6%.

Damac Properties tumbled 3.14% and Emaar Properties shed 1.13%.

The banks sector decreased by 0.74%, as Emirates NBD sank 1.7% to AED 9.83.

On the other hand, the insurance sector inched up 0.07% after Takaful Al Emarat surged 2.62% to AED 1.96.

The DFM’s trading volume reached 69.51 million shares, while the market’s liquidity recorded AED 83.17 million.
