Selective purchases boost DFM at Wednesday’s close

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended Wednesday’s trading session with positive performance, supported by selective purchases on blue-chip stocks.

The DFM’s general index inched up 0.09%, or 2.27 points, to finish the session at 2,643.70 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 126.09 million after 87.29 million shares exchanged hands through 1,822 transactions.

The telecommunication sector topped gainers with 2.88%, while the consumer staples sector levelled up 2.54% as Amanat grew 4.06%.

Similarly, the insurance and banks sectors went up 0.38% and 0.09%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the investment sector headed the decliners after falling 0.85% as Dubai Investments retreated 1.41%.
