Selective purchases boost DFM at Thursday’s close

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Thursday’s trading session with positive performance, encouraged by selective purchases on some blue-chip stocks.

The DFM’s general index inched up 0.21%, ending the last session of this week at 2,589.68 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 176.81 million after 122.49 million shares exchanged hands through 2,529 transactions.

By the end of the session, the real estate sector topped the risers and added 1.32% as Emaar Properties grew 1.84%.

Similarly, the services sector levelled up 0.71% after Tabreed increased by 1.99%, while the investment sector went up 0.59% as Shuaa Capital and Dubai Investments advanced 0.95% and 0.79%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the commodities sector headed the losers after falling 1.8% as DXB Entertainment declined 2.15%.
