Saudi population's number hit 20.4m in 2017 – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: The number of Saudi population rose 1.7% or 343,390 persons year-on-year, reaching 20.4 million, compared to 20 million in 2017’s geographical survey, said the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

The Kingdom’s population of Saudi persons, and expatriates increased 2.52% to 32.55 million in 2017, from 31.74 million in 2016, the GASTAT added.

The Saudi male citizens represent 50.94% of the total population, while females represent 49.6%.

Males represent 57.44% of the total population in the Kingdom, while females make up Saudi 42.56%.

Makkah topped first in including the total population and non-Saudi population with 33.28%, followed by Riyadh with 29.3%.
