Saudi merchandise exports to GCC rise 11% in June – GASTAT

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s local merchandise exports to the GCC nations, excluding re-exported commodities, jumped 11.3% year-on-year, or SAR 232 million ($61.87 million), in June.

Saudi exports to the GCC states amounted to SAR 2.29 billion ($609.6 million) during June, up from SAR 2.05 billion ($547.7 million) in the corresponding month a year ago, General Authority for Statistics’ (GASTAT) monthly report showed.

On the other hand, the kingdom's imports from the GCC surged SAR 958 million ($255.47 million), or 30.3% year-on-year, to SAR 4.12 billion ($1.1 billion) in June, from SAR 3.17 billion ($844 million).

Year-on-year, Saudi Arabia registered a SAR 1.84 billion ($490 million) deficit in trade with the GCC countries in June, compared to SAR 1.11 billion ($296.5 million) during the same month a year earlier.
