Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s consumer price index (CPI) declined 1.9% year-on-year in April, according to a report released on Tuesday by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
The prices of many segments went down last month, including housing, water, electricity, and gas, which shed 7.8%, while the prices of entertainments, telecommunications, and clothes retreated 1.3%, 1.2%, and 1%, respectively.
Month-on-month, the Saudi CPI stabilised in April, reaching 105.6 points, compared to 107.7 points in March.
Saudi Arabia’s CPI extended its decline for the third straight month after falling by 2.1% year-on-year in March.
