Saudi bourse ends Wednesday on positive note

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) jumped 86.25 points, or 1.1%, to 7,729.65 points.

TASI’s traded volume reached 118.25 million shares, down from 124.37 million shares on Tuesday, while liquidity decreased to SAR 2.6 billion from SAR 2.7 billion.

The pharmaceuticals sector increased 3.1%, followed by real estate management and development with 2.4%, insurance with 1.9%, banks with 1.2%, materials with 0.9%, and telecommunication services with 0.5%.

On the flipside, the consumer services sector inched down 0.5%, followed by consumer durables and apparel with 0.25%, and healthcare with 0.2%.

Wafrah for Industry and Development’s stock topped gainers with 9.97%, whereas Saudi Indian Company for Cooperative Insurance’s (Wafa Insurance) stock dropped 3.1%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Co’s stock led in terms of traded volume after 17.81 million shares were exchanged, while the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock generated the highest liquidity of SAR 308.93 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, surged 50.27 points, or 2%, reaching 2,601.16 points, its highest level in 10 sessions.

Nomu’s liquidity rose to SAR 684,440, from SAR 612,440 on Tuesday, while trading volume stood at 50,630 shares, up from 45,660 shares.

Raydan Co’s stock, up 6.4%, topped the index in terms of trading volume after 46,460 shares were exchanged, generating SAR 595,030, while Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock increased 2%.
