Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company suffered net losses valued at SAR 672.76 million for the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, a 35.54% increase compared to SAR 496.35 million in Q2-25.
The company attributed the widening loss to a rise in the average cost of certain production inputs and a decline in sales volumes resulting from supply chain challenges.
Quarterly revenue fell by 9.97% to SAR 2.01 billion, down from SAR 2.23 billion in the prior-year period.
Despite a 51% increase in average selling prices, sales volumes dropped by 40%.
On a sequential basis, however, revenue rose by 35.03% from the SAR 1.49 billion recorded in Q1-26.
In the first half (H1) of 2026, the company’s net loss reached SAR 1.29 billion, a 1.20% increase from the SAR 1.27 billion loss in H1-25.
Accumulated losses as of 30 June 2026 stood at SAR 7.19 billion, accounting for 47.92% of the company's SAR 15 billion share capital.
Total shareholders' equity shrank by 22.78% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 7.90 billion.
As of 31 March 2026, the net losses retreated by 20.77% to SAR 614.61 million from SAR 775.78 million in Q1-25.
