Saudi Kayan’s net losses drop 14% in 9M-26 amid higher selling prices

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company released its interim financial results for the first nine months (9M) of 2026, revealing a significant reduction in net losses compared to both the previous year and the preceding quarter.

The net loss for the nine months stood at SAR 1.38 billion, a 14.10% improvement from SAR 1.60 billion loss reported in the corresponding period of 2025.

Total revenue for the nine months reached SAR 5.68 billion, down 11.81% from SAR 6.44 billion a year earlier, as supply chain disruptions continued to impact total volumes sold.

The company reported a net loss of SAR 94.20 million for the third quarter (Q3) of 2026, representing a 71.99% improvement over SAR 336.25 million. This recovery was driven primarily by strengthened product pricing and internal cost-saving initiatives, despite persistent logistical headwinds.

Revenues amounted to SAR 2.18 billion, a 1.63% increase year-on-year (YoY) and an 8.91% increase from Q2-26.

Management attributed the annual revenue growth to an uptick in average selling prices, which helped offset a decline in sales volumes caused by ongoing supply chain challenges.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the revenue growth was fueled by higher quantities sold, which compensated for a slight dip in average selling prices.

Saudi Kayan achieved a gross profit of SAR 195.44 million, compared to a gross loss of SAR 88.08 million in the third quarter of the previous year.

Similarly, operational profit reached SAR 52.07 million, reversing an operational loss of SAR 163.06 million from the same period in 2025.

The company noted that the reduction in net loss was supported by a partial reversal of a provision for spare parts amounting to SAR 129 million, alongside efforts to lower operating costs and a decrease in the cost of certain production inputs.
