Saudi Fisheries’ Chairman resigns; Al Owais succeeds

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Fisheries Company has announced the resignation of Omar bin ‎Hamad Al Madhi from his position as the board’s Chairman, which came into effect on 6 October 2022.

Abdulrahman bin Saud Al Owais succeeded Al Madhi, who resigned from his post due to personal reasons, according to a recent bourse filing.

Last June, Walid bin Hamad bin Sulaiman Al Buthi resigned from his position as the company’s CEO, while Awwad Farouk Aldasouqi was named the Acting CEO.

In the first half (H1) of 2022, Saudi Fisheries incurred net losses after Zakat and tax of SAR 23.53 million, an annual surge of 21.43% from SAR 19.38 million. Revenues went up by 34.14% to SAR 29.25 million in H1-22 from SAR 21.81 million in H1-21.

The loss per share stood at SAR 0.59 in January-June 2022, versus SAR 0.48 per share during the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, the accumulated losses reached SAR 152.16 million, accounting for 38% of the SAR 400 million capital.
