Saudi Arabia starts Neom’s environmental, geological survey

Riyadh – Mubasher: Neom team has started environmental, archaeological and geological surveys in order to ensure that the execution of any future construction is well-planned and sustainable.

Neom is a planned transnational city and economic zone to be constructed in the Saudi city of Tabuk, and it is close to the border region of Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

It is part of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's Vision 2030, as the GCC nation aims to boost foreign direct investment (FDI) into the country.

In October 2017, the crown prince announced the launch of Neom city, noting that the kingdom will inject $500 billion in investments within the coming years.

The city, which covers an area of 26,500 kilometres, will include an international airport, resorts, ultra-technical port in addition to logistics facilities.

On 29 August, Aradhana Khowala was appointed as NEOM’s managing director of tourism.
