Riyadh – Mubasher: More than 28.55 million polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests of COVID-19 have been conducted in Saudi Arabia since the pandemic started to date.
The COVID-19 testing capacity in the Kingdom has surpassed 130,000 tests per day, according to the Ministry of Health.
Around 90% of the PCR results are issued within less than 18 hours, while 99% of the results are issued within less than 24 hours.
There are 48 COVID-19 test laboratories approved by the Public Health Authority nationwide, in addition to 75 labs affiliated to the private sector.
The number of laboratories affiliated to the health ministry stands at 25, with a capacity of 80,000 tests per day.
Saudi Arabia has registered 546,926 total COVID-19 cases until press time, of which 535,950 recovered and 8,699 passed away.
