Saudi Arabia, Iraq ink several MoUs in various fields

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia and Iraq have signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on Monday on the sidelines of the final session of the Saudi-Iraqi coordination council, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The coordination council aims to enhance bilateral strategic ties, boost cooperation in various fields, develop the partnership between the Saudi and Iraqi private sector while opening new prospects and protecting mutual interests.

The two states inked an MoU in the health sector to face the COVID-19 crisis and provide medical supplies to Iraq in implementation of the directives of the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Moreover, a framework agreement was sealed between the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and the Iraqi Ministry of Finance (MoF) to offer loans for some development projects in Iraq.

The two parties further addressed the preparedness of the Jadida Arar border ahead of its opening and agreed on the executive plans of the signed agreements and MoUs for the interest of the two countries.

It is worth mentioning that the anticipated visit of Iraq’s Prime Minister, Mustafa al Khadhimi, has been postponed as the Saudi King was recently admitted to hospital for medical checks.
