SWIFT to hold ME conference in Dubai

Dubai – Mubasher: The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) is planning to host its Middle East Regional Conference in Dubai, which will gather senior representatives from the region’s banking and financial industry.

Scheduled to be hold from 24 to 25 September, the event is expected to attract 250 delegates to discuss the most serious challenges facing the financial industry, according to an official statement.

“Markets across the region are diversifying their economies with a focus on financial services, construction, trade and tourism to attract local and international investors,” SWIFT’s regional director of Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, Sido Bestani, commented.

The conference is set to be attended by policymakers, industry leaders and high- level speakers and will incorporate a transaction banking forum about the best utilisation of new technologies in the banks sector, SWIFT revealed.

“Disruptive technologies, changes in customer behaviours and expectations, and increased regulatory scrutiny are forcing the industry to review traditional banking models,” head of Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey at SWIFT, Onur Ozan, said.
