Renaissance Services’ unit bags $350 vessel deal

Mubasher: Renaissance Services Company announced on Thursday that its subsidiary Topaz Energy and Marine, has won a contract, in a consortium led by Blue Water Shipping A/S,  to supply and operate 15 vessels for Kazakhstan’s  Tengizchevroil Company (TCO).

According to a bourse statement, the contract value exceeds $350 million (OMR 135.2 million).

Topaz, under the agreement, will construct 15 Module Carrying Vessels (MCVs), which are set to start working in the second quarter of 2018 with a minimum contract period of three years.

After securing the deal, Topaz’s backlog reached $1.6 billion (OMR 615.99 million), which enhances the company’s revenues and its credit strength.

Earlier in March, Topaz, leading offshore support vessel company, clinched a contract to supply 14 offshore support vessels to British Petroleum (BP) in Azerbaijan.
