Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Sunday announced that remittances from Egyptian expatriates increased by 1.5% year-on-year during the first quarter of fiscal year 2018/2019.
Total remittances stood at $5.9 billion in Q1-18/19, versus $5.8 billion in the same quarter a year earlier, the CBE said in a statement.
Remittances rose by 20.4% in September to $11.8 billion, compared to $1.5 billion in the prior-year period, the CBE added.
