Reality show Fighting Fit Dubai signs deal with ESPN

Reality show Fighting Fit Dubai will air its third season on ESPN.com, thanks to a new deal inked between the show’s creators and producers.

UAE-based Nomad Productions and global sports media giant, ESPN said the new partnership opens up the series, which follows a group of everyday men and women on a physical and mental journey into the world of amateur boxing, to an international audience of up to 3.2 million viewers monthly.

The deal also means that the third season’s 28 episodes will be available to view, anytime and anywhere in the world online.

With episodes being uploaded to ESPN.com thrice weekly from March 17, it will be the first time a UAE-based reality show will be streamed and hosted on ESPN.com.

“As we have seen through the success of the first two seasons of Fighting Fit Dubai, there has always been an appetite for compelling content that showcases the emirate and its residents,” said Phil Griffiths, director of Fighting Fit Dubai and co-founder of Nomad Productions.

“Also, during recent years, the way our viewers consume entertainment has undergone a sea-change. They expect convenience and flexibility and our partnership with ESPN.com has not only given us an international stage for Season 3 of Fighting Fit Dubai, but also allows us to reach our fans and followers in a way that simply makes sense to them.”

Conceptualized, filmed and produced entirely in the UAE, the show follows a diverse group of UAE residents between the ages of 25-57, as they train in the art of boxing over six weeks for the chance to compete for glory and to be named Fighting Fit Dubai Champions on one final Fight Night.

With applications still open online until February 24, producers said they are also expecting the cast of the show’s third season to be its most diverse yet.

The third season of the series will again see a legion of elite trainers and mentors, including Dan Costello, Waleed ‘Dynamite’ Din and Joe Ackery, oversee contestant training.
